Description of the problem	I was traveling on a two lane highway going about 60 mph with my two granddaughters in the car with me, when all of a sudden i lost power and the car began to decelerate. The wrench light came on. I pulled over to the side of the road and after calling my mechanic i turned the car off. I waited for about 5 minutes and restarted the vehicle. The wrench light went off and i was once again able to drive the vehicle. This is very dangerous if it should happen on a major freeway in rush hour traffic. Some internet research indicates that this has been a major problem with the mercury and others. I called a ford dealer who said my car was not part of the extended warranty that was part of the "customer satisfaction program" and he would not tell me any other information citing liability concerns.
