| Description of the problem | Travelling on illinois i-55 south early in the morning. About 2 miles north of us highway 6 exit car lost power and i noticed "stop safely now" message. I pulled off to side of road. Car started right up. I went about a 2 miles and car did the exact same thing. I was real close to the golf course and made it there. No problems on the way home or since. Car never acted or sounded ? Funny?. Car repaired by local lincoln ford dealer. They said they replaced an engine coolant pump ($695 including labor and taxes) that is unique to hybrid. They said i was the third hybrid this week-end--probably had something to do with cold weather. Coolant pump has a different design so they may have had original design problems. *tt |
