Description of the problem	Takata airbag recall on my 2014 mercedes glk250 for an extended amount of time. Recall open since jan 18,2019. Recall number19v010 manufacturer recall number is 2019 010001nhtsa recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available. Safety risk according to takata, in the event of an inflator explosion, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Remedy: an authorized mercedes-benz dealer will replace the passenger-side airbag. I have been asking about a repair part for over a year and a half with no luck. After actually reading the safety risk, my wife is afraid to drive the car especially with our son in it. I now have a car sitting in my garage that we dont feel safe driving based on the verbiage and seriousness of the recall. Mercedes benz should be responsible and deliver a solution in a reasonable amount of time. With an active recall of this caliber there is nothing i can do with the car but just garage and that seems very unfair. Either fix the issue or repurchase the vehicle.
