| Description of the problem | I noticed a strong smell of gasoline after filling the fuel tank. Smell is very strong both inside and outside the vehicle. This occurs every time i fill the tank. Sometimes fuel also leaks onto ground underneath the car. Took to mercedes dealer for diagnosis. They report that seals around 2 fuel tank covers have failed. The repair involves replacing the entire fuel tank. I have not made the repair due to high cost. I have learned that this is happening in many mercedes e class vehicles in same age range. |
