| Description of the problem | The engine light came on and i brought my car into the local mercedes dealer. The diagnosis result according to the service representative was a camshaft balancing rod problem and the estimate to replace the balancing rod was quote at $6500. I did subsequently look into this problem online and found that their are similar occurrences with this vehicle and the conclusion is that it is a manufacturing defect for this engine. The service representative agreed that it is too early for any engine to have this type of problem and called mercedes benz they decline to assist in this matter. Can nhtsa look into this problem and see if there is a problem with this engine? Thank you |
