Description of the problem | Took in vehicle for check engine light. I was told that one of the cam magnets needed to be replaced (advised to have all 4 replaced). According to service adviser this is a very common problem for 2007 and prior year e-class vehicles and that the cam magnets have been redesigned to fix this issue. The complete replacing of the 4 cam magnets was more than $600 for service (before taxes). The service adviser also stated the other problem this vehicle consecutively comes in for is a faulty gas tank that is prone to crack which required the gas tank to be replaced. Mercedes-benz should clearly address the above issues on this vehicle. |
