| Description of the problem | I have had my mercedes e350 for about 6 months. I purchased used and the car currently has 70,000 miles on it. I got a check engine light and have taken the car to 3 mechanics. The fault codes come up as p00017 and p00018. They are telling me i need to remove the engine and rebuild the camshaft (estimated cost $5,000 -$6,000). I have researched this on line and found many other people with this same vehicle that have had the same result. I have spoken with my local mercedes dealer and they are aware of the problem but offer no assistance to repair. |
