| Description of the problem | I own a 2007 c230 which is garaged every winter. I filled the gas tank before putting the car away for the season. When i returned two week later i noticed a very strong smell of gasoline had filled the garage. After driving the car for a day and lowering the level of fuel in the tank the smell had gone. After some research i am finding this is a common problem with mercedes cars. I would not expect this to happen on a vehicle with less than 50 k on it. I also own a 07'' c280 which has the same problem, intense smell of gas after filling the tank. I feel that this strong smell of gasoline fumes provides a dangerous condition and is unsafe. |
