| Description of the problem | 2007 lincoln town car acceleration. The consumers wife was approaching a traffic signal, when suddenly the engine revved extremely high as she was attempting to apply the brake to come to a normal stop. As the engine was out of control and the braking system was not sufficient to stop, she quickly placed the gear into neutral. After shifting to neutral, the brakes were sufficient with only a few inches to spare avoiding a serious collision. The vehicle continued running at a high rate during the wait. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to find any problems. *jb updated 04/12/11 |
