Description of the problem	Drivers side rear brake light malfunction. Lights are led construction containing 3 elements. 2 elements have failed. This repair costs$400. 00 because the led's cannot be repaired. Lincoln has extended coverage on 2010 and 2011 mercury milan and lincoln mkz models . This is called 14m03 tail lamp assembly extended coverage. They have extended coverage on these models to 10 years or 150,000 miles. I believe the 2012 models such as my current car should also have been covered because the 2011 and 2012 mkz is so similar. Further loss of brake lights is a serious safety issue especially because of the extreme expense that is involved in replacing two tail light assemblies and a center light assembly were all three to fail. I believe use of led lighting should be warrantied for the projected life of the car due to cost. My vehicle was not damaged. The light simply failed due to manufacturing of design issues.
