Description of the problemTakata recall. I received a letter in july 2016 that my passenger airbag was on recall. The letter stated:" a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death." it is now sept. 21, 2016 and i have been calling lincoln company asking when will my airbag part be available. It was learned that lincoln is "in the development stage" to produce the part! Not only do they not have a part, they have not even developed the part yet!!" i spoke to three different people at lincoln customer service and a supervisor about this situation. They all stated they have no idea when a part would be available, even though i am in florida zone a for the most serious case of inflator malfunction. Since receiving the letter, i have not allowed anyone to sit in the front seat passenger seat..... And will not until this matter is fixed. Hence, i have not had the use/enjoyment/comfort of the automobile that i purchased. This is very unacceptable. The worst part of this to me is that the three people i spoke to at lincoln said, "it is safe to drive the car and use that seat, since the letter did not indicate a loaner car would be issued." how in the world can anyone get a letter like this and then the company say the likes of "oh don't worry."???? Their logic is totally insane and illogical. Unfortunately, i understand that over 50 million cars+ are on recall for this matter and it is a nightmare for the car companies. However, i can not worry about them, i have to worry about my grandson, or any other passengers! How long will i have to make people sit in the backseat of my car?????
