| Description of the problem | Vehicle started making humming sound while accelerating at low speed. Noticed a leak of very dark fluid the following day. Took it to mechanic who diagnosed the issue as a leaking ptu (power transfer unit). I've looked into this and there appears to be a issue with the design on the seals. It appears to be a prevalent issue with ford edge/lincoln mkx that has not been acknowledged/corrected by ford. I've attached a link showing numerous complaints and some examples of people losing power/acceleration while driving. Http://gotaclassaction. Com/15796-2/. |
