| Component | STEERING |
| Product type code | VEHICLE |
| Description of the problem | The power steering intermittently fails upon starting the vehicle, or twice while driving. Both times driving, i was traveling about 40 mph on a rural street, and was able to pull directly into a parking lot that was parallel to the road which required little steering. If you shut the vehicle off, and restart the car, it usually resets itself. Please be advised that when the power assist stops working, it takes extreme strength to maneuver the vehicle. I have a 1965 mustang without power steering. There is no comparison between both vehicles, the lincoln does not steer without pulling with both hands in one direction on the steering wheel. |
