Description of the problem | My 2005 lincoln ls has been going into an etc failsafe mode almost every other day for last four months. Dealership has told me it is a faulty accelerator pedal sensor. However, this part was and continues to be on a "national backorder". I have avoided countless crashes due to this failure while merging into traffic. Once the etc failure comes on, i lose all accelerator power and merely coast in an attempt to get off highway so i can restart the car. On one particular day this happened 4 times over the course of driving about 15 miles. I am putting the incident date as when i took it to dealership last however this issue is on going. |
