Description of the problem	My 2013 kia sportage ex has a failed engine at 50k miles. On july 2nd, 2019 at about 1:15pm i was driving and without any warning i heard a loud sound come from the engine so i immediately pulled over and checked the engine. I saw oil pouring out of the engine block. It was towed to a local kia dealership who confirmed that engine was leaking out of a hole in the engine block. The gentleman from the service department at the local kia dealership stated that the connecting rod broke off the barring and shot out of the engine block. As i did some research this is the exact issue kia has issued recalls for to fix on kia sportage 2011-2013 models and other models as well; however, my vin is not included in their set of recalls. I was told to contact kia consumer affairs because my car is not under warranty because i am not the original owner as i purchased the vehicle from a dealership back in 2014 with 10k miles on it. Today is 8/19/19 and i am still waiting for a final answer regarding a good will claim from kia consumer affairs which means i am still with out my car. Kia is taking advantage of its customers by not issuing a wider recall regarding their defective engines and forcing its customers to pay for replacement engines.
