Description of the problem	2013 kia sorento engine recall: i was driving on the freeway in southern california to visit family when i started hearing a clicking sound coming from my car. It sounded like a woodpecker and it happened each time i hit the gas. When i accelerated slightly to merge over to the right to exit the freeway when i lost power, the gas pedal didn't respond. I was able to navigate traffic and coast to a stop on the off ramp. When this happened the check oil light, battery light, and check engine light came on. I then shut off my car, put on the hazard lights, and when i tried to start my car again it wouldn't start. I had to be towed from the freeway off ramp an hour later. I keep up with the regular maintenance and this should not have happened to my car at 107,000 miles. The dealership that it was towed to told me that the engine seized up and they are not sure why, some part in the middle... I drive this road to visit family often and if this would have happened at another point in my journey i could have been in a very bad accident. Sometimes on this freeway there are little to no shoulders, blind corners, and very dark at night with high speed traffic. Had this happened during an uphill section i could have been rear-ended or caused an accident as i lost all power and the flow of traffic is fast.
