Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2012 kia sportage. The contact stated that the vehicle was stalling while being driven then did not start at all. The vehicle was taken to the dealer matthews kia of cartersville located at 595 e main st, cartersville, ga 30120 (770) 386-8400 and they told the dealer that the vehicle needed a new motor. The dealer informed that the engine needed to be replaced and that there were no recalls for the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the starter to get the engine restarted and got an oil change. In addition, it was informed that the oil pan needed to be replaced. The vehicle drove a short distance from the oil change location and the motor burst into flames underneath the hood. The front motor compartment under the hood was damaged. The fire was extinguished by the contact. The fire department was called and filed a report. No police report was filed and there no injuries reported.
