Description of the problem	While driving vehicle began to rattle in engine compartment, lose speed and the check engine light came on. My daughter pulled the vehicle into the median and stopped the vehicle. Upon arriving at the vehicle, i cranked the car to see what was happening, vehicle is making a rattling sound, no warning lights other than check engine light came on, water temperature is good. Vehicle gave no indication that motor failure was imminent during previous day's driving. I drove the vehicle over to the side of the road and called for a tow truck. Vehicle was taken to local auto repair shop; where their diagnosis determined that the engine needs to be replace. Vehicle has just over 108,000 miles, oil changes performed regularly.
