| Description of the problem | While driving my vehicle at 70mph on a straight stretch of the freeway, the car suddenly stopped accelerating, and then i was unable to use the gas or brake and the check engine light turned on. There was no warning. I coasted to the shoulder and had to have it towed to the local kia dealer. I was told that it needs a new engine. After some research i see that there was a recall for this, but it doesn't include my vin. It seems that many other people have had this problem and are also not part of the recall. I am really concerned about this. Luckily i have a warranty, but it doesn't cover my cost of towing or the rental car i need to get to work, so i still have a lot of unforeseen expenses. I have reached out to kia and am awaiting their response. |
