Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owned a 2015 kia soul. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, several warning lights illuminated as she had attempted to merge off to the side of the road. Once she pulled over, she saw smoke emitting from the engine of the vehicle. Seconds later, a flame began to ignite within the engine, therefore, the contact and her husband immediately exited the vehicle. A state trooper initially arrived at the scene and attempted to extinguish the fire with his extinguisher; however, the flames grew quickly which rendered the extinguisher ineffective. The fire department eventually arrived at the scene and was able to extinguish the fire. The contact was uncertain if a fire or a police report was filed. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard where it was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and requested the service history on the vehicle. The contact then reached out to mathews nissan service(185 highway 76 service bay entrance, clarksville, tn 37043), where she purchased the vehicle, and they were only able to provide her records from when they came into possession of the vehicle. Due to the lack of information, the failure was never investigated by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
