| Description of the problem | I own a 2014 kia soul plus with the 2. 0l engine with approx 95,xxx miles. One morning the engine starting making a loud clatter (sounding like a diesel engine) and had a sudden loss of power while driving on a county road near my home. My daughter was driving the car and was able to turn around and return home without incident. I later took the car to a local repair shop where upon further investigation they determined the engine had spun a rod bearing causing internal engine damage. There were no symptoms or issues with the engine leading up to this failure. Through research i later discovered the many issues kia has had with this engine related to sudden engine failures. |
