Description of the problem	I own a 2014 kia soul plus with 104,000 miles. This car has had documented synthetic oil changes on a regular basis. Out of nowhere the engine rod has blown. I have called five different mechanics and all state the kia is known for bad engines. Called jasper who is well known for rebuilt engines and they will not touch a kia. I understand the hyundai has recalled numerous cars for bad engines. Kia has recalled from 2012 to 2016 the kia soul base for bad catalytic converter and on the recall notice it specifically states that the catalytic converter can damage the engine. I have owned four cars with mileage over 200,000 and one car, a mazda 626, had over 325,000 miles and i never had to replace an engine there has to be some federal protection for the public from manufacturers that sell a poorly made product that mechanics from all over know are problematic. I only have owned this car for less than 4 years.
