| Description of the problem | After sc176 recall repair the vehicle still did not run correctly. After escalating for a vp, kia replaced the catalytic converter. I asked for the parts but kia said the parts were theirs. The engine seemed to be running correctly but failed in nov. 2020. I went about a mile with the car after it was sitting for 2 days and the check engine came on and blinked and engine ran rough. I had it towed to the kia repair. Kia said i needed a new engine, with parts and labor would be 6k to install. I talked with 2 mechanics besides kia and both said that the car age and miles it should not have failed and that it had to be an over heating issue but it never overheated. I followed maintenance schedule for most of the life of the car. |
