| Description of the problem | My daughter was driving my 2013 kia soul, 2. 0 engine, on the interstate when the car had a sudden lose of power. Within a minute or so there was a loud pop and smoke rolling out behind. After being towed and inspected we see that the oil mid pan failed. There is a large crack in the cast aluminum just behind the oil filter. I was told this much back pressure in the engine probably means a clogged or faulty catalytic converter. I have noticed a lot of similar complaints from other kia owners. Called kia and was told this in not covered by any warranty or recall. *as |
