| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2013 kia soul. The contact stated that the engine stalled and an abnormal knocking sound was coming from the engine compartment. There were also metal shavings in the engine that mixed with the oil. In addition, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no failure was found. However, the mechanic stated that new pistons and a catalytic converter were needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that a new oxygen sensor needed to be installed. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 92,000. |
