Description of the problem	While driving on a rural highway, my son swerved to avoid a deer which had entered his path. Failing to regain control of the vehicle, he entered a roadside ditch with a steep embankment. The vehicle struck the opposite side embankment on the left front quadrant which resulted in severe damage to the vehicles front end. (the damage caused is nearly identical to the crash test provided on the iihs's website in which the drivers side airbag deployed). Our drivers side airbag failed to deploy. Upon striking the opposite embankment and receiving the front end damage, the vehicle rolled completely at least one time. (according to the kia website, the side/curtain airbags should have deployed), however, that failed to happen as well. Fortunately my son was wearing his seat belt, and walked away with minor injuries. The vehicle was purchased due to it's safety rating. No airbag deployment in a kia soul front end/rollover accident!
