| Description of the problem | I noticed that the engine fan kept running occasionally when i would turn the car off. Then i noticed that the thermostat would sometimes run very hot, and that was when the engine fan would continue after vehicle shut off. I took the vehicle in to the dealer to get it checked out, and they shared that it was total engine failure due to the head studs pulling out of the engine. This was causing coolant to get into the engine and burn. The vehicle had 130,000 miles at this time. It turns out because of the head studs stripping out, antifreeze was getting into the engine. The engine needed to be replaced. Total engine failure. |
