| Description of the problem | At 68,000 miles - no accidents on record. Our sorento's drive train "came apart" inside the rear housing causing the drivetrain and axles to separate and the gears to be propelled up into the housing. We were taking the vehicle to the repair shop when it happened as we noticed a lead coming from the rear - we hadn't noticed it previously. Mechanics are estimating multiple thousands of dollars in repairs for the drive train, rear axles, etc. I was fortunately able to pull the vehicle over to the shoulder as soon as i felt the drivetrain "give out." |
