| Description of the problem | The vehicle was in motion and basically "died". Police assisted my daughter (who was driving the car on her way to work on a very busy interstate). Car was towed to a local shop where it remained over the weekend. It was then towed to another shop local to my residence. Upon diagnosis, the starter was found to be burned out, but vehicle still would not start. Eventually it was determined that the engine was the problem. The engine seized up. Possibly timing chain but not certain, at this point. Seems to have occurred randomly. Engine has had proper care. Battery and starter are both good (starter was replaced because the seized engine likely burned the starter out). Should possibly be included in the recall # sc147. |
