| Description of the problem | Car started overheating and coolant backed up and over flowed coolant reservoir. Also being winter there was no heat coming from the heater. This happened whether traveling 70 miles an hour, stopped at a stop sign, or idling in park. Temperature gauge would go from normal temp to over heating temps, back and forth with the sound of bubbling in the reservoir and heavy coolant leakage. Me and my wife also noticed a strong foul fuel oder exspecially when driving on the freeway. I replaced the thermostat, flushed and filled the radiator with 50-50 mix of antifreeze and it changed none of the problems listed above. Had system pressure tested and a scan of the engine ob2 module and came back with 0 codes. Researched vehicle and found recall number sc147 engine/engine cooling, engine replacement. |
