| Description of the problem | Recall: 16v389000 - hood opens while driving we were never notified that there was a recall for this issue. We found out about the recall after the incident described below: while driving on a freeway, the hood unexpectedly opened up and hit the windshield. Luckily, i was able to slow down and get on the shoulder to avoid a major accident. The entire windshield is cracked and the hood is damaged beyond repair. I'm not sure if the impact damage any other parts of the car but an inspection will be performed by my insurance to find out. |
