Description of the problem	Loose and wandering steering. I purchased this vehicle new in january 2019, it currently has 5,039 miles. Since new, the steering has been loose and wanders around the lane of travel at speeds over about 30 mph on paved, well maintained highways. If you take your eyes off the road to check gauges or controls, you have to quickly make an adjustment to keep it centered in the lane. It has low mileage in the 18 months of our ownership because we are afraid to drive it. We want to avoid a crash and injuries at all cost. The steering wheel can be turned either direction for several degrees without response at highway speeds. I reported this issue to my dealers and they have made three different attempts to correct the issue, but they are unable to based on the design. The last attempt, they advised they had spoken to their area jeep/fca representative and were advised that jeep is aware of the issue and a correction will be coming in the near future. The asked me to be patient. That was over one year ago and still no correction. I'm sure this issue has likely caused many preventable crashes and injuries and will continue to do so until it is resolved by the manufacturer. It's time for nhtsa influence.
