| Description of the problem | Saturday 11-2-19 while driving on the freeway i hit a slight bump going over a bridge and my jeep started shaking uncontrollably. I slowed down and it stopped when i got to about 40mph. While driving home on the same day i had the same thing happen again on the same freeway after hitting a bump at a seam in the road going over a bridge. This has happened once more since then but seemingly on the other side of the vehicle so now it has happened twice on what feels like the drivers side front and once on the passenger side front. I am now nervous driving as most of my miles are done on the highway and in ohio they can't seem to get the seams over bridges smooth so now i am white knuckling it every time i have to go over one. I stopped at the dealership on 11-6-2019 and was told there is a recall for the steering damper that needs done, i have an appointment on 11-8-19 to get this fixed. I have not had anything mailed to me letting me know of a recall and i just had my jeep there for service 2 weeks ago (oil change and tire rotation). If there was a pending recall should they not have attended to it without me having to experience the underlying issue in the first place? When i enter my vin number on this site it doesn't show any pending recalls, does chrysler/fiat know of the issue and only deal with it when you have it or is there an actual recall that should have been sent out? When doing 70 on the freeway it is not always easy to slow down or get over without possibly causing an accident... They need to get this taken care of and correct any underlying issues before people start causing accidents and someone ends up dead! |
