| Description of the problem | Death wobble. The steering system in the vehicle will shake violently after hitting a bump at speeds between 40mph and 70mph. The shaking of the steering system continues until the vehicle is slowed to speeds around 40mph and below, at which time the shaking fades until it dissipates completely. The shaking cannot always be anticipated and can cause panic with the driver, especially a driver that has never experienced the shaking before or has never driven the vehicle before. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership to address the issue. The steering damper was replaced, but the issue was not resolved. The vehicle is scheduled to go back to the dealership for further inspection of the issue. At this point, i would deem the vehicle unsafe to drive at highway speeds. |
