| Description of the problem | Noticed oil on the garage floor in january 2020. Engine is leaking oil from the oil cooler that is on top on the engine. Could be a fire hazard as oil drains down the back of the engine. Vehicle has 86000 miles on it but has been leaking for a while. Now it is leaking very bad and can smell burnt oil when driving. Looking on forums online and many 2014 to 2016 3. 6 engines have this issue. Issue seams to be from faulty gaskets and in some cases cracked housings on the oil cooler. Mine is no longer covered under any warranty. I thought it was from the oil pan gasket at first, but when i started to smell oil burning, i started looking closer at it and found oil laying in the valley on top of the engine. |
