| Description of the problem | The oil filter housing on the v6 3. 6l penstar failed, allowing oil to leak directly onto the intake manifold while the vehicle is running. From there the oil drained down the back of the engine, down the transmission and onto the exhaust system. From personal experience i know this to be a fire hazard. Based on my own research this failure is a known problem with this year model and resulted in the manufacturer making changes on later models. However, this does address the thousands of vehicles still on the road. Part number seems to be 68105583aa. |
