Description of the problem	Oil filter housing, cracked resulting in loss of large amounts of oil, engine has 82,000 miles and oil has been changed every 3000-3500, using manf recommended oil and filter. Started leaking large amount of oil and burning smell, dealer stated that the oil filter housing was cracked due to over tightening of oil filter cap. This is not true, have for the last 4 years used a torque wrench to the manf specifications printed on the oil filter cap. Reviewing this on the internet and sees to be a common problem on the penstar engine which changed from bottom mount to top mount oil filter. Many others have had the replacement covered under the 100,000 mile warranty but this local dealership states it was user error and refuses to cover. Would like for nhtsa to review the number of issues other jeeps have had with this part breaking, as dealer warned this is a potential fire hazard with the oil leaking.
