Description of the problem	When changing the oil . When you remove the oil filter there is a plastic part on the shaft in the oil filter housing. This is a valve that controls the oil if the filter gets gummed up the presser causes this valve to open so that the oil will still flow if the filter is clogged. This plastic valve breaks during normal oil changes. To fix this 10 cent part you have to buy a whole new oil cooler unit at the cost of $237. 00 also to have the dealership fix it your looking at $800 plus for a 10 cent part. Jeep changed the oil cooling filter unit in the 2014 models. This also happens not only in the jeep jk v6 but also in dodge chargers and any v6 models that use this same filter oil cooler unit.
