Description of the problemCheck engine light goes on and off. Default code shows problem with oil pressure sensor. But check engine goes off when vehicle is at 3/4 fuel tank, then goes back on when at 1/4 fuel. The oil pressure sensor problem appears common to these vehicles. There are lots of people noting the same problem and explanation is that jeep knows there were faulty oil pressure sensors installed over many vehicle models and years. The repair is roughly $400 - $500 as the head needs to be pulled to replace the sensor. However, many still report the check engine problem after the repair is made. Unknown as to extent of damage the engine may experience due to this problem.
