Description of the problemJuly 26, 2016, we took our 2012 jeep wrangler to the dealership after the abs and trac lights came on. The dealership showed a c102a code and a u140b code. They replaced and programmed the left rear wheel speed sensor, feeling that would solve our problem. On august 18, 2016, in stopped traffic, on a major state highway, the car lost power. We were able to restart the vehicle, but by the time we got it to the dealership, no codes were evident. On september 18, 2016. Driving 60 mph, on another state highway, the vehicle lost power. Fortunately it was a sunday afternoon and traffic was light. We were able to coast to a side road and after about 4 attempts were able to get the vehicle restarted and drove about 2 blocks to a safe place. We had to contact a tow truck to carry the vehicle 10 miles to the dealership. The service technician was unable to get the vehicle to recreate the code, so he took it home for about 3 days, finally having the vehicle lose power and was able to get it coded. The diagnosis was a tipm shorting out. There was also a damaged clockspring. Both parts were replaced. Total of both invoices = $1,752. 25.
