| Description of the problem | The engine was on idle. The car was stationary. I pressed the gas pedal. The car did not move. I saw smoke coming out the air con / fan on the dashboard. I got off the car and look underneath it. I saw red liquid pouring onto the ground and flames. The fire subsequently extended to the entire engine. The fire brigade came and manage to put out the fire. There was no warning of overheating or any lights that would have indicated that something was wrong. The car was regularly maintained (every 10,000 km) at the local jeep service center. The car only had 77000 miles i have never been off-road. I have never made any upgrade or modification to the car. |
