| Description of the problem | Airbag warning chime and light come on when vehicle is in motion. Both reset when vehicle is stopped. Cause of failure is bad airbag clock spring. Recall has been issued for right hand drive wranglers but does not cover left hand drive wrangles. I am a avid off road enthusiast and believe the exposure to dirt/dust is the root cause. This was the finding with rhd jeeps due the nature of postal service use. Since my vehicle is used off road with the doors removed i do feel the conditions are close to what a postal jeep may experience. This is the intended use for this vehicle and the clock spring should not fail. |
