Description of the problem	I have a 2008 jeep wrangler that was manufactured in 2007. The clock spring was diagnosed by the dealer as being defective. This will prevent the driver airbag from deploying in an accident. I have read that the 2007 model year clock springs were recalled but not the 2008. I have read on several forums that the 2008 models are affected with this problem especially the early models. I am not sure how many complaints you have had about this issue but this should be handled in a recall or other way that the owner is out of pocket $500 for a safety repair that they are aware of as an issue. I have contacted chrysler care and they told me that they would not cover this issue. I have heard that chrysler has extended the warranty on this part to 100k miles or so.. But i'm told that not my vehicle. This is a knows safety issue and should be handled under a warranty situation.
