| Description of the problem | I have owned this vehicle for over four years. Recently, i needed to remove the spare tire for the first time and noticed a severe crack in the housing support bracket that connected the spare to the rear gate of the vehicle. This bracket has three lug nuts designed to support the spare and, because of the crack, one of the lugs was not providing any support for the approximately 150-pound tire and wheel. A crack around one of the other two lugs would likely cause a complete failure of the housing support, as i doubt one lug could hold the heavy spare and wheel. I believe this part should be recalled immediately. |
