| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that the class 3 trailer hitch underneath the vehicle detached while driving 20 mph. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and used ratchet straps to support the bottom portion of the hitch to resume driving. The class 3 hitch was not replaced. The salesperson where the product was purchased called the manufacturer on the contact's behalf and was informed that the class 3 hitch was out of one year warranty. The manufacturer could only offer a percentage off of another purchase. In addition, the manufacturer informed the salesperson that the hitch was part of the bumper; therefore, the one hitch applied to both. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000. |
