| Description of the problem | The vehicle jumps out of gear often when beginning acceleration while in first gear and sometimes when turning while in third gear. This is an extremely dangerous defect. It could have particularly deadly consequences when starting from a dead stop and pulling out into traffic or turning in front of oncoming traffic (of course when given plenty of time and space and yielding of right of way to other vehicles), if it were to leave you stopped all of a sudden after popping out of gear. It's unbelievable that jeep and dealerships deny that this is a problem when it has been going on for over a decade now with no official fix or recall. We've "learned" to drive it with this dysfunction, but this should be leading to wrongful death lawsuits if it ever caused such. |
