| Description of the problem | I have a 2007 jeep wrangler with a 6 speed manual transmission. I have had several instances that while starting from a stopped position such as at a stop sign the transmission suddenly pops out of first gear. It actually happens so much that i am having to start in second gear as to avoid the loud horrifying sound that it makes and, more importantly, avoid sitting in the middle of an intersection trying to get it back in gear so i don't get killed by oncoming vehicles. The problem with starting in second gear is #1 i shouldn't have to and #2 sometimes it wants to stall starting in that gear especially if you are starting on a hill. I have taken it to the dealer for repairs 2 times, but they tell me that they have never heard of this ever happening. I guess they never look on this website. I called chrysler to complain, but i never heard back from them. This is a serious problem that nhtsa needs to investigate before someone gets killed if that hasn't happened already. How many people have to die before something gets fixed? The word safety is in the title. Be proactive not reactive for once and investigate this serious problem before anyone dies. |
