| Description of the problem | Starting when the vehicle had approx 30k miles, the handle at the gas station would shut off one to two seconds after gas would come spraying out of the filler neck. Different gas stations or handle styles had no effect on the problem. I did discover that if filled very slowly, it would click off before overfilling; however, the problem is progressive and that method is no longer effective. Last week (march 21st 2010) i went to add gas and found that the handle would click off instantly when more than 1/4 flow was attempted, even though the gas tank was empty. Attempts at removing the gas tank and associated components have found no obstructions or obvious damage; however the malfunction remains. *cn |
