| Description of the problem | While filling gas tank in san diego at the same location i had filled up at many times the fuel pump kicked off and in less than a second later gas came squirting out of the vent holes with enough force to spray gas 3 - 4 feet away from the car. I initially thought it may be a problem with the pump but over the last 10 month this has occurred at many different gas stations. I have also tried filling at the lowest speed of the pump but it will still spray out. It stopped for a month or so but has started up again over this last month. This is very dangerous when it comes out with enough force to get into someone's eyes or possibly cause a fire. The first time this happened my shirt and pants were sprayed with gas. |
