Description of the problemAbout 1 year ago the gas tank started over flowing when i put gas in. I initially thought it was a pump problem but it got worse over time. When i fill the tank it over flows about a cup of gas. When i contacted the dealer they knew about the problem and said it happens on some jeeps. The problem is the roll over valve sticks open. The only fix is to replace the complete gas tank - $1,250. 00. Neither the dealer nor chrysler would take responsibility for fixing the problem although chrysler acknowledged it was a design defect not a manufacturing defect. If there are 1 million jeeps on the road with this problem, their drivers fill up once a week, and spill a cup each that amounts to 60 thousand gallons of gas dumped into the environment a week. Seems like chrysler should be more concerned about the problem and either you or the epa should encourage them to take ownership.
